Grocery Shopping
Signs that you are living away from home:
- Misc things like cotton bud and tissue paper has to be bought
- You begin to take 25 min walks to the further supermarket so that you can buy cheaper food.
- You always seems to be running out of food.
- Therefore, you can be spotted in supermarkets every few days.
- You have forgotten when is the last time you ate home-cooked food.
- You notice that the sky turns dark at 430pm.
- When planning your time, you write down things like 'washing clothes', 'shopping for food', 'tidying the room', 'boiling water', etc.
- You begin to say things like 'the .... is cheaper today', ' ... looks fresh today', 'you can buy.... at ...', ' i have clothes to last me another ... days'. ok...for some people ' i am cooking today'.......
- You realise the importance of things like sugar, salt and OYSTER SAUCE. ok...and rice cookers, pots, pans.........even the different types of washing powder........
- You realise the ubiquity of advertising and the effect of capitalisation as you stand at the supermarket shelf, staring at the one thousand and one different brands of the same product that you want to buy, and it hits you that you have been standing there for the past 20 min.
Anyhow, went grocery shopping at a faraway place yesterday but am very happy nevertheless. Got pizzas for like 1 pound and the selection of desserts is marvellous. Am actually tempted to go back again.
Oh...something i noticed: stocking up large amount of food not equal to having food for more days. You just eat more..that's all.
Hurray to gluttony.
