Cambridge Update
I finally matriculated yesterday!
Facts:
1. 87 freshers in Corpus Chriti
2. 5 Engineers, out of which there is only one girl, aka me
3. Corpus is the 6th oldest college
4. and it does not meet the fire hazard requirements.
Basically, we had to wear formal attire for matriculation, not to forget the gown, and we look rather stupid walking along the streets like that but I think the people here are used to it. We took an indiuvidual shot and a group photo, and then signed a form and we are considered to have matriculated.
I went for this Evensong after that at the chapel and I totally didnt know what was going on. I think it is an anglican service or something. There was just a lot of singing and sermons and I dont think I am going there again.
Then we had formal dinner, which was very fun. It is really like that in Harry Potter, where students sit along long tables and there is a high table for the tutors to sit on, except that they didnt sit there. All that is missing is the food appearing magically on our plates. The food was nice, but too much and I drank again. sigh. Come here keep drinking. There's even clubbing tomorrow. Double sigh.
After that, we had a party at the court where I'm living in. Since it was so cold and I have decided not to leave my room, I popped my head out of the window and tried to get people to come up to my room. So after a while, there was sort of a fresher's gathering at my room. It was so fun!! haha...and warm...So last night was a great night.
Went for tour around college today. Realised that Corpus is terribly old, with its amazing collection of silverware and manuscripts. Then I visited Audry's and Hong King's room. Their college is ancient and Aud has a scary row of toilets at the basement, but her room is very cosy.
OK... then comes to the night. I just came over to Michelle's place to bath since I dont have a shower. I should do this more often.
