Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Went to watch Charlie after going to Settlers today. Finally managed to get Freda out of her house, and met her for the first time since like eons ago. It's amusing how Freda and Pam bring out the violent side of each other. Watching them "fight", while sitting across them happily munching on my lunch just entertains me greatly.
Anyway, I think I am getting addicted to Settlers. I had so much fun there again today, just like the last time, and I am so very tempted to go there again tomorrow. Maybe I will. =)
By the way, Pam won EVERY game we played today.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
I will think that this movie is more or less an accurate rendition of the written version, except that there was an added theme - family. Willy Wonka's background was shown in the movie, although I did not recall reading it in the book. However, I think that this addition served to add flavour to the movie, further bringing out Willy Wonka as a character. AND Willy Wonka, despite looking a bit gay, is actually very good an actor, who brings out the eccentric characteristic of Wonka extremely well.
Watching the movie has reignited my desire to go to the fairytale land, be it one created by Roald Dahl or Rowling. Everything is nice and rosy in fairy tale land, with no mundanities and routine chores to do, it is a place which is only limited by the creativity of one's mind. Such defiance of nature and anything remotely sensible! I will like to do that.
Anyhow, finally got to take one of the long bus rides home. It has quite a 'therapeutic' effect. Sitting in the bus, staring into the darkness outside and listening to music is surely one great enjoyment of life, provided you are not rushing home. I can't remember what I thought about, or maybe I was just stoning, but I'm sure a few more of these journeys and I will be able to reach some enlightenment about life. Till then....more bus rides.
